Product Overview: DSX2-5000 Copper Cable Analyzer and Certifier
Fluke Networks DSX2-5000 Cable Analyzer and Copper Cable Certifier – Get Copper Certification Done Right – Fast, Accurate, and Profitable
The DSX CableAnalyzer™ Series is built for today’s electrical contractors who need to certify twisted pair copper cabling—Cat 5e, 6, 6A, 8, or even Class FA and I/II—up to 40 Gigabit Ethernet.
Certifying cable is just one step in the bigger picture. From design to final sign-off, every phase counts. Therefore, the faster you get through the testing and certification process, the sooner you get paid. Unfortunately, time gets wasted when testers are difficult to set up—or worse—set up incorrectly. Delays occur when test limits aren’t clearly defined, or when your crew has to wait on the one technician capable of troubleshooting and interpreting the results.
That’s where the DSX CableAnalyzer comes in. Whether you’re running the job or pulling cable, this tool eliminates guesswork from certification. Consequently, it helps reduce callbacks and keeps your projects on schedule—and profitable.
The DSX Series is part of the Versiv™ platform, which is designed to make testing simple and accurate—no matter who’s using it. It meets the highest standards (Level VI/2G accuracy) and, as a result, helps you avoid costly errors, manage multiple teams, and handle different types of cabling with ease. Finally, it delivers professional, easy-to-understand reports that your customers will appreciate and trust.
- Versiv™ platform modular design support copper certification, Tier 1 and Tier 2 fiber certification, as well as fiber end-face inspection.
- See the Fluke Networks OptiFiber Pro OTDR for Tier 2 certification
- See the Fluke Networks CertiFiber® Pro Optical Loss Test Set for Tier 1 certification
- Need to test cat 8 or have Level VI/2G Accuracy? See the DSX2-8000 CableAnalyzer.

Troubleshooting:
The DSX CableAnalyzer Series streamlines troubleshooting. It graphically identifies the source of failures, including crosstalk and the distance to shield faults. With a single-button operation, it runs a complete suite of tests. By automatically saving the results, it reduces the time taken to resolve cabling issues.
In addition, the intuitive graphical results screen provides a visual representation of the cable. It allows users to pinpoint the exact location of problems such as crosstalk, return loss, or shield faults along the link. Unlike previous testers, which were limited to diagnostic frequencies of up to 250 MHz, the DSX removes this restriction—delivering a broader and more detailed analysis. Both novice and expert users can easily interpret this unified view, enabling faster identification and remediation of faults. Furthermore, the test results are saved and can be reviewed remotely for additional support.
Traditionally, shield continuity was measured using direct current (DC). This offered no insight into the distance to a fault. While some testers perform basic resistance checks to verify shield continuity, these often misinterpret ground paths as intact shields or fail to detect shield breaks altogether. Even when a fault is detected, many devices fall short by not indicating its location. As a result, technicians are guessing where to begin repairs.
The DSX CableAnalyzer addresses these shortcomings by becoming the first field tester to report distance to shield integrity issues. It provides accurate, actionable information about the true condition of shield continuity. This capability is especially vital in high-performance environments such as data centers and Cat 8 installations, where reliable screen continuity is essential to preserve alien crosstalk performance in shielded cabling systems.
