Product Overview: 70E Training for Wind & Solar
70E Training for Wind & Solar
This course is intended for anyone who must meet the definition of a qualified electrical worker and competent in the associated safety requirements for performing electrical tasks in a wind generation environment.
JM’s 70E Training for Wind & Solar meets or exceeds NFPA 70E standards and complies with OSHA 1910.331-.335, and includes components of 1910.269 as well as encompassing 1910 subpart S and 1926 subpart K in general to meet all expectations for electrical safety training. All aspects of electrical safety are carefully explained, and both classroom and hands-on sessions ensure that the skills and knowledge can be demonstrated to meet regulatory and company requirements.
Our standard course covers all the general safety requirements for all voltage applications. The hands-on demonstration of skills is performed wearing applicable arc flash and shock protection PPE, and includes the use of live line tools to isolate an electrical circuit or equipment such as a padmount transformer, remove separable connectors when applicable, test for absence of voltage, and apply temporary protective grounds that is followed by removing temporary protective grounds, restoring connections and reenergizing the electrical device or equipment.
This course is an enhanced version of a standard qualified electrical worker course that includes additional training to encompass the understanding and demonstration of the special skills and knowledge required for wind power and solar power operations, and higher voltage applications as well as employer-specific procedures and requirements.
