Shielding Improves Performance
All conductors that carry current can be a potential source of electromagnetic interference (EMI). EMI can cause unstable readings (“rattling” digits) and in severe cases unreadable measurements. DMMs must be properly shielded to reduce these problems.
All Fluke meters are EMI shielded. Most have rigid nickel-graphite shells inside the case to reduce the effects of EMI.
It Pays to Calibrate Regularly
