RAE Gas Detection Tubes

RAE Systems colorimetric gas detection stain tubes, which are similar to Draeger tubes, enable quick measurement of a wide range of toxic and combustible gases and vapors. RAE gas detection tubes are easy to read, and provide a sharp, clear color change directly corresponding to the concentration of gas present. RAE LP-1200 Hand pump is sold separately.

Boxes contain 10 colorimetric tubes unless noted with an asterisk in the table below. *Box contains 5 colorimetric tubes and 5 pre-tubes, for a total of 5 measurements.

Draeger Tubes / RAE Tubes / Gastec Tubes Comparision:

RAE Systems and three independent laboratores have created a comparison of draeger tubes, RAE tubes, and other manufacturers. TRI/Environmenta), Stanford University, and San Francisco City College each created independent studies. All pumps tested passed the specification of less than 2% leakage after 2 minutes with a sealed tube inserted. Gases were filled into a Tedlar bag from a NIST-traceable standard cylinder and used either directly or after dilution in the bag. More information on the RAE and draeger tubes test can be found here:

Rae Gas Detection Tubes and Sampling Handbook:

This handbook provides an overview on the use of gas detection tubes and sampling pumps manufactured by RAE Systems. Use of a sampling pump other than a RAE Systems hand pump may cause serious errors. Always test any pump for leaks before use. Several manufacturers provide equivalent hand pumps and tubes. This document provide an overview on serveral makes and models and outlines the key differences. For example, draeger tubes will not work with a RAE pump and vice versa.
