The PIE 422 is designed for broad compatibility with today’s most common process instruments. Connect directly to the thermocouple inputs of transmitters, PLCs, DCS systems, and multichannel recorders to verify outputs, displays, and temperature readings with confidence.
Measure Thermocouple Sensors Accurately
Use the PIE 422 to troubleshoot thermocouple sensors, detect broken wires, and identify corroded connections. Simply connect your thermocouple and measure the probe directly in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit. A secondary display also shows the corresponding millivolt value and the cold junction temperature measured by the calibrator, giving you more complete diagnostic information during testing.
Calibration Lab Accurate and Stable
Built for high-accuracy thermocouple calibration, the PIE 422 features an internal cold junction thermistor accurate to ±0.05°C and traceable to NIST. The sensor is thermally bonded to an isothermal mass with brass blocks and screw terminals for bare thermocouple wire connections, along with a miniature thermocouple connector for quick hookups. Its extremely stable voltage reference and low-drift components deliver greater accuracy and stability than many handheld and benchtop thermocouple calibrators.
Ideal for AMS 2750 Heat Treating Applications
When certified by an accredited lab, the PIE 422 can meet the requirements of an AMS 2750 field test instrument for heat-treating uniformity surveys and system accuracy tests.
