Integrated test solution to speed up client reporting and confirm the efficiency and safety of PV systems. The Fluke SMFT-1000 multifunction tester with I-V curve tracing can be used to verify that PV systems are running securely and producing their maximum amount of electricity. The SMFT-1000 offers a complete PV testing solution that complies with IEC 62446-1 standards and is intended for PV specialists that offer installation, commissioning, and maintenance services for systems that operate at 1000 V DC or below. Measurement data from solar site installation and commissioning testing may be quickly imported, arranged, and analyzed using Fluke’s TruTestTM Software for hassle-free reporting without needing to carry a laptop on location.

Real-time irradiance and temperature data are required for accurate I-V curve measurements. The SMFT-1000 and the integrated IRR2-BT irradiance meter wirelessly transmit data in real time to deliver the most precise I-V curve measurements. The IRR2-BT will continue capturing data even if the wireless connection is lost for any reason for up to 17 hours, which can then be compared to tests performed with the SMFT-1000.

Changing the configuration of test leads frequently while running various tests is a bother. Less time is lost on setup and fewer user errors happen when testing PV systems thanks to Fluke’s unique “Keep the Leads” approach. More testing can now be completed on the field in less time.

Switch the SMFT-1000 to Auto Test Mode to perform an automatic sequence of tests in a variety of combinations: • With insulation test or without insulation test• IEC 62446-1 testing for Category 1 or Category 1 and 2• IEC 62446-1 testing for Protection Class I or Protection Class II

The SMFT-1000 will display the curve as it loads in the test data while taking an I-V curve reading in the field, compared to the module specifications specified by the manufacturer. As a result, measurements can be quickly verified without a laptop or tablet. Use the I-V curve test to check if new installations are operating in accordance with the site’s requirements or to see if existing modules or strings are performing at the levels that are predicted.
