DEFELSKO POSITECTOR UTG ME Ultrasonic Thickness Gage Probe

The DeFelsko PosiTector UTG Probes utilize ultrasonic technology to measure wall thickness in materials such as steel and plastic. These probes are perfect for assessing corrosion and erosion effects on tanks, pipes, and other structures with limited access. Built-in temperature compensation enhances measurement accuracy. The probes are weatherproof, resistant to dust, water, acids, solvents, and oils, and feature wear-resistant tips.

The PosiTector UTG offers a variety of probe options, including the Corrosion Integral Probe, Corrosion Cabled Probe, Xtreme Corrosion Probe, Low Frequency Probe, Multiple Echo Probe, and Precision Probe. Braided stainless steel cables ensure durability and include heavy-duty strain reliefs for demanding applications. UTG Probes meet national and international standards, including ASTM E797. Extended cable lengths of up to 20 m (60 ft) are available for underwater or remote measuring.

Probe Options:

  • UTG Corrosion Integral Probe:
5 MHz dual-element transducer with an integral probe and automatic V-Path compensation for thin materials.
  • UTG Corrosion Cabled Probe:
5 MHz dual-element transducer with a durable PEEK probe tip and automatic V-Path compensation for thin materials.
  • UTG Xtreme Corrosion Probe:
5 MHz dual-element transducer with a durable PEEK probe tip and automatic V-Path compensation for thin materials.
  • UTG Low Frequency Probe:
Designed for measuring attenuative materials like cast iron, featuring a proprietary algorithm that distinguishes back wall reflections from grain noise in cast materials.
  • UTG Multiple Echo Probe:
Thru-paint capability with a 5 MHz contact probe featuring a wear-resistant alumina tip. The Multiple-Echo technique averages three or more echoes for accurate readings, and users can easily toggle between Single and Multiple Echo modes.
  • UTG Precision Probe:
Thru-paint capability with a 15 MHz Single Element Delay Line cabled probe. It features a field-replaceable transducer and automatically switches between Single and Multiple Echo modes based on material and thickness.
