Product Overview: Anritsu Field Master MS2080A Spectrum Analyzer
The MS2080A continues Anritsu’s legacy of creating robust and reliable instruments for demanding RF measurements in challenging environments. Weighing under 9 pounds (4 kg), this compact and lightweight analyzer is highly portable.
For field work, the MS2080A provides a comprehensive set of tools for detecting and locating interfering RF signals. It features a rapid sweep speed of 45 GHz/s, AM/FM demodulation, and RF source geolocation to quickly identify signal sources. The optional real-time spectrum analyzer captures even brief bursts or TDD signals, and the S331P Site Master adds cable and antenna line sweep capabilities to the same device.
With options for LTE and 5G base station measurements, the MS2080A supports operators and contractors in installing and optimizing networks.
In the lab, the MS2080A’s hard case, equipped with rubberized bumpers and an integrated kickstand, makes it a versatile tool for general-purpose measurements where portability and space are crucial.
Interference Detection and Spectrum Clearing
The MS2080A swiftly identifies interfering signals using its fast sweep speeds, low-distortion front-end, and Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer. An optional interference finder feature adds AM/FM demodulation with audio output and triangulates the interference source on a digital map to pinpoint its exact location.
Broadcast Transmitter Analysis
Perform thorough transmitter measurements, including AM/FM modulation quality, harmonic and spurious emissions, occupied bandwidth, channel power, and adjacent channel power, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
5GNR Base Station Measurement
Verify the performance of gNB base stations with measurements compliant with 3GPP TS 38.104 V15, such as:
- Frequency error
- Time offset
- Cell/sector ID
- SSB: RSRP, RSRQ, SINR, RSSI
- Modulation quality (EVM)
- Unwanted emissions
- Occupied bandwidth
- Adjacent channel leakage ratio
- Transmitter harmonics and spurious emissions
- EIRP
5G/LTE Coverage Mapping
Map the signal strength of 5G/LTE transmitters across a geographic area by continuously measuring RF data (RSRP, RSRQ, SINR, channel power) and displaying the results graphically on a digital map or building floor plan.
Cable and Antenna Measurements
Use the accessory S331P Site Master to perform line sweep measurements on RF cables and antennas at base station sites.
