Product Overview: Amprobe UAT-620 Underground Utilities Locator Kit

Amprobe UAT-620 Underground Utilities Locator Kit

Avoid costly repairs and safety hazards from accidentally hitting utility lines with the durable Amprobe UAT-600 Series. This tool accurately locates underground utilities and buried services up to 100 feet deep, with precise depth measurement up to 20 feet.

The complete kit includes a Transmitter, Receiver, test leads, batteries, and fuses, all in a protective duffle bag. The UAT-620 model also features a Signal Clamp for tracing cables when direct electrical contact isn’t possible. For ground fault detection, combine the UAT-600 Transmitter with the optional A-Frame accessory.

Main Applications:

  • Locate energized 50/60 Hz cables
  • Identify metallic utilities and cables (energized or de-energized)
  • Trace individual pipes or cables (metallic; use metal fish tape for non-metallic)

Testing Modes:

  1. Passive Power Mode (50/60 Hz): Traces energized lines without the Transmitter.
  2. Passive Radio Mode (RF): Uses ambient radio waves to trace utilities.
  3. Active Mode (with UAT-600-T Transmitter):
    • Induction: Automatically radiates a signal for tracing cables without direct connection.
    • Direct Connection: Provides reliable tracing through test leads.
    • Clamp: Applies a locate signal where direct access is impractical (included in the UAT-620 kit, optional for UAT-610).

Special Features:

  • 2 frequency options: 8 kHz and 33 kHz
  • Locate non-metallic pipes and sewer lines
  • Measure depth, current, voltage, resistance, and output current
  • Advanced locating with two operators
  • Detect ground faults with the optional AF-600 A-Frame

Safety:

The UAT-600 Series stands out with its CAT IV 600 V safety rating, allowing direct connection to live lines up to 600 V. This feature eliminates the need to de-energize lines, saving time and improving productivity.
