The OX 5042B Handscope Oscilloscope is a rugged, handheld 3-in-1 instrument designed for the demands of on-site electrical work. Built compact, shock-resistant, and IP54-rated for protection against dust and water splashes, it’s easy to carry and use with one hand, even in tight or challenging environments.
Its ergonomic design includes a bright 3.5-inch color screen with LED backlighting, giving you crisp, clear readings whether you’re in a panel, on a rooftop, or in low-light conditions. In addition, the multilingual on-screen help makes it easy to use, no matter your experience level.
Three Tools in One
Oscilloscope
Dual isolated channels, 40 MHz bandwidth, and 5 mV to 200 V/div sensitivity. Perfect for testing signals in control systems, drives, and power circuits.
Multimeter
Two isolated inputs, 8000-count display, and built-in power measurements. Handles voltage, current, resistance, and continuity with accuracy.
Harmonic Analyzer
Analyzes up to the 31st harmonic (40 Hz to 450 Hz). Ideal for identifying power quality issues in motors and non-linear loads.
The Handscope includes 2 MB of internal memory dedicated to data logging. In multimeter mode, it can store up to 2,700 readings, with time intervals ranging from 5 minutes to 1 month. This makes it especially well-suited for long-term monitoring and detailed troubleshooting in the field.
In addition, the unit features fully isolated USB communication, enabling safe and efficient remote setup and control through the included SX-METRO software. With this capability, users can view real-time traces on a PC, control the oscilloscope directly from the computer, and import previously stored traces from the instrument’s memory. These can also be retrieved as image files for documentation or analysis.
Furthermore, users can save traces in text format, making it easy to insert data graphs directly into reports using a word processor. Moreover, the software allows seamless data transfer to Microsoft® Excel, providing flexibility for additional analysis, charting, or presentation.
