Safeguard Equipment’s COMPASS® is a personal voltage and current detector that detects exposed electricity and warns the user before they are electrocuted. This life-saving device shows the threat’s distance and direction, and it’s the only personal detector that can detect current.

COMPASS® is mounted in the user’s peripheral view under the brim of any regular hard hat. Because of its strategic positioning, it can detect the user from all sides. When a threat is detected, COMPASS® gives both auditory and visual notifications to the user.

Smart Adaptive Sensitivity 

Any change in neighboring electric and magnetic fields is detected by COMPASS®. It has seven levels of sensitivity and a Smart Adaptive mode that adapts to the user’s present environment to avoid redundant alarms and then resumes when the user comes closer to the electrified source.

Flexible Power System 

The COMPASS® personal voltage and current detector has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery built in and charges using a standard 5V Micro-USB port. COMPASS® has a 10-day battery life, charges in 1.5 hours, and has an average life of 3-5 years without any charge capacity loss.

Industrial Durability

COMPASS® is water resistant to IP 67 standards and can work at temperatures ranging from -20° C (-4° F) to 60° C (140° F). It is composed of polycarbonate ABS with UV resistant additives. Furthermore, all COMPASS® devices come with a one-year warranty.

Recurring Sensor Self-Test 

COMPASS® performs repeated self-tests every hour to ensure sensor accuracy. The tests are run in the background to avoid causing any inconvenience to the user, and the heads-up-display will alert the user immediately if any faults are discovered.

With a thin low-profile housing that attaches below the brim of any hard helmet and gives LED alerts that are bright and distinct without blocking the user’s direct line of sight, COMPASS® is meant to be ergonomic, efficient, and intuitive.
