Product Overview: Anritsu Field Master MS2070A Spectrum Analyzer

Anritsu MS2070A

The Field Master MS2070A is Anritsu’s latest handheld spectrum analyzer, built on a rugged, field-tested platform. It delivers exceptional performance up to 3 GHz and is designed for RF measurements in both field and lab settings.

Featuring a dynamic range of >105 dB at 2.4 GHz, the MS2070A effectively captures and measures HF, VHF, and UHF signals used in commercial and military applications. With a typical DANL of -167 dBm (with optional preamplifier), a Third Order Intercept (TOI) of +11 dBm, and level accuracy of ±0.5 dB, this analyzer handles a wide range of signals with ease.

Engineers can perform standard swept spectrum analysis up to 3 GHz with simplicity and precision, benefiting from sweep speeds of up to 32 GHz/s in low noise configurations.

Broadcast Transmitter Analysis
Conduct a comprehensive range of transmitter measurements, including AM/FM modulation quality, harmonic and spurious emissions, occupied bandwidth, channel power, and adjacent channel power, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Interference Hunting and Spectrum Clearing
Utilize fast sweep speeds and a low-distortion front-end to swiftly identify interfering signals. The optional interference finder feature provides AM/FM demodulation with audio output and triangulates interference sources on a digital map, helping you accurately locate and address interference issues.

EMC Pre-Compliance
Ensure your products meet EMI/EMC regulations to prevent interference with other devices. While final compliance testing is performed at certified test houses, pre-compliance testing helps identify potential failures early, increasing the likelihood of passing final tests on the first attempt.

PIM Hunting
With the prevalence of rooftop cellular base stations, Passive Intermodulation (PIM) has become a significant interference issue. Common rooftop items like air conditioning units and guard rails can generate RF intermodulation products. The 2000-1884-R PIM Hunter accessory for the MS2070A uses its fast sweep speed to accurately pinpoint PIM sources on rooftops.

75 Ω Cable TV Testing
Test 75 ohm coaxial cable used in cable TV distribution systems with the 12N50-75B adaptor. This accessory connects directly to the MS2070A’s RF port, compensates for impedance differences, and displays the spectrum of all cable TV channels. Quickly detect missing channels or interference caused by overmodulation.
